Sanz and its courts
Rebbe Chaim Halberstam of Sanz, the Divrei Chaim (1793-1876), founded a family of courts. Sanz itself continued through his sons in Shinova, Gorlitz, Kshanov and elsewhere, and two of his descendants founded dynasties of their own: Bobov and Klausenburg.
Sanz
Sanz was founded by Rebbe Chaim Halberstam, the Divrei Chaim (1793-1876), a talmid of Reb Naftali of Ropshitz. After his passing his sons led their own courts, among them Shinova, Gorlitz and Kshanov.
Bobov
Bobov was founded by Reb Shlomo Halberstam, a grandson of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz, in the Galician town of Bobowa. Rebuilt in Brooklyn after the Holocaust, it is one of the largest Chassidic communities today.
Klausenburg
Klausenburg was founded by Reb Yekusiel Yehuda Halberstam, a great-grandson of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. After losing his family in the Holocaust he rebuilt the court in America and Eretz Yisroel, where he founded Kiryat Sanz in Netanya.
