Satmar (Sighet–Satmar)
סאטמאר (סיגעט–סאטמאר)
The Teitelbaum line begins with Rebbe Moshe Teitelbaum, the Yismach Moshe of Ujhel, a talmid of the Chozeh of Lublin who helped bring Chassidus to Hungary. His descendants led the Sighet court, and in 1905 Rebbe Yoel Teitelbaum set up his own court in Satmar. After the Holocaust it was rebuilt in New York, and since 2006 it has been led in two branches by Rebbe Aharon and Rebbe Zalman Leib.
