The Falling Apples

A story ofRabbanit Malka of Belzרבנית מלכה קורח מבלץ

An owner of an apple orchard once came to Rav Shalom of Belz to say that his apples were falling from the trees before their time. When he arrived, he first met the Rebbetzin and asked her to plead his case with the Rebbe. She went up with him to Rav Shalom and asked him to bless the man that his apples would stop falling. So it was, and from then on the apples no longer fell.

When the season came to harvest, the man went to shake his trees so that the apples would fall, but they stayed on the branches, because Rav Shalom had ordered it so. The man had to travel to Belz again to ask the Rebbe to let the apples fall. Again Rabbanit Malka stepped in and asked Rav Shalom to bless the apples to fall, and they did.
