Speaking to One Bochur

A story ofRav Shimshon Dovid Pincusהרב שמשון דוד בן אברהם חיים פינקוס

Rav Shimshon was once advising an avreich about public speaking. "Usually speakers look at the size of the gathering, and so they speak big and are not focused, and the audience remains unmoved and apathetic. I spoke at a function with fifty thousand people. My eyes locked onto one big, broad bochur, and I delivered my entire speech to him. And every one of the fifty thousand felt that I was speaking to him personally."

Anyone who has an inkling of Rav Shimshon's great heart knows that he really was speaking to each one of the fifty thousand.
