The Divrei Chaim Comes to Help
Parnassah
When the Ratzferter once came to Nasoyd, throngs of people from Nasoyd and the surrounding area came to seek his berachah and advice. Among them was a chassid from a village near Nasoyd. He waited patiently in line, and by the time he came in and received a berachah, the hour was too late to go home, so he spent the night in town.
His wife was in her ninth month, and she was seized by intense labor pains. Seeing how late it was and that her husband had not come home, she felt she was in trouble. She could not get out of bed, she was alone, and there was no one to summon the midwife. In her pain and distress she cried herself to sleep.
In a dream she saw an elderly tzaddik, who soothed and comforted her and told her not to worry. “Your husband gave my son a nice sum of money today and asked him for his blessings,” he said. “As a reward to your husband, I promise you that you will give birth without any danger or difficulty. I will see to it that your child is born healthy, and he will lie beside you safe and sound when you awake.”
And so it was. She awoke to find that she had miraculously delivered her child, who lay peacefully asleep at her side. When her husband came home in the morning and found his wife and baby safe, she told him the whole story. He understood that the Divrei Chaim of Sanz had himself come to help deliver his baby safely and to heal his wife, in thanks for the support given to his son, the Ratzferter Rav.
