Kedoshim and the Chozeh

A story ofRav Sholom HaLevi Rosenfeld of Kaminkaהרב שלום בן יעקב יוסף ראזענפעלד

When Rav Sholom's father brought him to the Chozeh of Lublin, the Chozeh asked the young lad which parsha it was that week. "Kedoshim," answered Rav Sholom. "Very good," said the Chozeh. "Rashi says that kedoshim means that you should be perushim, separated from all gashmiyus."

The words made such an impression on the boy that he began to tremble violently and shake like a leaf. His father quickly took him to their room at the inn so that he could lie down and come back to himself.
