Asking Forgiveness at Camp Ohr Shraga
Shabbos & Yom Tov
During the long summer vacation, Reb Yaakov would travel to Camp Ohr Shraga and learn with the young bochurim as chavrusos. During these sessions he would allow no disturbance, even though his chavrusa was many years younger, so that the boy would not be hurt.
When the summer days were over, Reb Yaakov would turn to his chavrusos and say words that stayed engraved on the hearts of his young students. "Yom Kippur is soon upon us, and it is time to make a reckoning. When two people learn together, it is very possible that one can unintentionally fail to treat the other with due respect. I therefore beg your mechilah in case I slighted you in any way."
