True Chassidim

The Chozeh of Lublin once asked Rav Menachem Mendel of Rymanov whether he had any followers and chassidim. "Yes, we do," said Rav Menachem Mendel.

"And in what way are they chassidim?" the Chozeh asked.

"Our chassidim, my followers," answered Rav Menachem Mendel, "learn halachah and Tosfos in depth."

"If so," said the Chozeh, "then they are truly chassidim."
