A Shower of Chassidim

The Shabbos before his chasuna, Rav Yeshaya came to spend Shabbos with Rav Mordechai of Nadvorna. Rav Mordechai greeted him with warmth and open affection and honored him greatly. It was he who recognized Rav Yeshaya as the successor of the Rebbe of Liska. He appointed him to be a Rebbe and a leader among the Jewish people, publicized his greatness and spread word of it among the chassidim.

Before Rav Yeshaya received his aliyah that Shabbos, Rav Mordechai turned to the chassidim and declared, "There is no one here to shower the chassan with sweets, as is the custom. But I will shower him with chassidim."
