The Poor Rav's Shoes

It is told that one day a very poor Rav from a small town came to his home. Rav Yosef Dov welcomed him warmly and invited him to eat, and as they ate they spoke in Torah.
After bentching, the guest stood up, and Rav Yosef Dov noticed that his shoes were torn. He called one of his sons over and whispered to him, "Take off your shoes and give them to this Rav."
