The Little Toy

The Yevsektzia was determined to stop the Rebbe. One morning, while he was davening on the yahrzeit of his father, three of its members burst into his shul with guns in their hands to arrest him. The Rebbe calmly finished his prayers and then followed them.

He was brought before a council of armed and determined men, and again he declared that he would not give up his religious work, whatever threats were made. One of the agents pointed a gun at him and said, "This little toy has made many a man change his mind."

The Rebbe answered calmly, "That little toy can frighten only a man who has many gods, his passions, and only one world, this world. Because I have one G-d and two worlds, I am not impressed by your little toy."
