Three Middos to Guard

Humility

A teaching ofRav Avrohom Dov Auerbachהרב אברהם דב בן דוד אוירבך

Before leaving for Eretz Yisroel, the Bas Ayin told his chassidim that to emulate the ways and character of another is to be truly attached to that person. Just as Hashem is merciful and kind, so should we be. He had been careful with his own middos since his youth, and he named three he had always guarded against: loshon hora, sheker, and gasus ruach, arrogance and vanity. If his chassidim would accustom themselves to guard these as well, he told them, they would be connected with him truly, face to face.
