The Abundance of Torah and Mitzvos

Rebbi Chananya ben Akashya teaches that Hashem wished to give the Jewish people much merit, and so He gave them much Torah and many mitzvos, as it is written, "Hashem desired, for the sake of his righteousness, He will make the Torah great and glorious." One explanation is that it is enough for any Jew to carry out a single mitzvah in a complete way in order to earn a portion in the World to Come. For this reason mitzvos of every kind were given, so that each person can find one that suits him.
