Reciting Pesach Eliyahu on His Yahrzeit

TefillahShabbos & Yom Tov

A teaching ofHamekubal Yaakov Chaim Yisroel Refael Alfiaהרב יעקב חיים ישראל רפאל בן יצחק אלפייה

It is told that the Hamekubal promised that a person who reads Pesach Eliyahu for the elevation of his soul on the day of his hilula, and asks for one thing only, will have him speak on his behalf, and that person's tefillah will be accepted. The way to do this is to light a candle for the tzaddik and then say: "I am reading Pesach Eliyahu in honor of the tzaddik Rav Yaakov Chaim Yisroel Refael ben Rav Yitzchok and Sarah, and I ask him to pray for me." Here the person mentions his own name and his mother's name, and then states what he is asking for. With the help of Hashem, he will see miracles.
