Educating With Joy

The Rebbe taught that a child must be filled with a vision of his own potential greatness and enlisted as an active partner in his own development. A teacher must learn to speak the student's language and to convey, vividly, the delights of a life of closeness to Hashem. He argued for positive, joyful and psychologically sensitive methods of chinuch, in place of harsh discipline and rote learning.
