Mundane Speech
Torah learning
The Gemara teaches that even the mundane speech of Torah scholars requires study. Rav Moshe of Dalina explained this in the name of the Baal Shem Tov, from whom he heard it directly. The main perfection of the righteous is that their attachment to Hashem does not cease, even for an instant, and the same is true of all their speech. Even when they must speak with people about worldly things, they seek to do so in a way that does not break their attachment to Hashem. Since such a person remains attached to Hashem even in ordinary conversation, even those words are worthy of study.
