Why the Book Does Not Carry His Name

The Gemara teaches that all of the book of Ezra was written by Nechemya. Why, then, is it not called by his name? One answer is that he asked for credit for himself, saying, "Remember to me, O my God, for good, all that I have done for this people" (Nechemya 5:19). Rav Yosef gave another reason: he spoke of the faults of those who came before him (verse 15), among them Daniel, who was greater than he.
