The Purpose of Kabbalah

Rav Nissim used to say that Kabbalah was not intended to distribute amulets, to bring about salvation, or to serve any mystical purpose of that kind. Kabbalah was given so that we should understand how the world operates and works, so that we may delve deeply into the essence of things and into the deep and hidden aspects of Torah.
