Love Brings People Closer to Torah
Children & shidduchim
The words of Chazal in Pirkei Avos, "Ohev es habrios umekarvan laTorah" (loving people and drawing them close to Torah), guided Reb Yaakov throughout his life. He did not differentiate between young and old, elderly people and even little children, or those who did not live according to the Torah way of life. He loved them all. He said, "Loving your fellow Jew is a mitzvah in the Torah, and in addition it is a segulah that if the love is given according to the Torah, it will bring its recipients closer to Torah and to Hashem." So he said, and so he lived.
