The Move to Warsaw
Shabbos & Yom Tov
During the First World War most rabbanim and Rebbes left their small towns for the large cities, but the Rebbe at first refused to leave Novominsk.
Then he was warned that the Russian authorities had issued an order for his arrest, in order to hold him as a hostage. At Chanukah 5675 (1914) he left for Warsaw. He stayed there after the war ended, until his passing.
