A story ofRav Alter Yisroel Shimon Perlow of Novominskהרב אלתר ישראל שמעון פרלוב

In Cheshvan 5653 the young Alter Yisroel Shimon married Feiga Dina, the daughter of Rav Baruch Meir Twersky of Azarnitz. As the two families had agreed, the couple at first made their home near her father.

Some time after the wedding, around Shavuos, his father, Rav Yaakov, invited him to spend the yom tov with him. When the holiday was over, the father insisted that his son remain and settle in Novominsk beside him.

His father-in-law opposed the move and refused to send the dowry he had promised. Rav Yaakov paid the dowry from his own money.
