The Last Birkas HaChodesh

On the last Shabbos Mevarchim that Rav Avraham davened at the Kosel, he was so weak that he refused to begin the blessing for the new month. He was also afraid to hold the Sefer Torah. But the gabbai, Rav Avraham Segal shlita, and the mispallelim urged him. They said they could not give up his monthly blessing, and they suggested that someone else hold the Torah.

Suddenly he gathered the last of his strength, steadied himself, and asked to hold the Torah himself. He began to say the blessing of the new month as he always did.
