Defending the Berditchever's Honor

Rav Avrohom Dov once heard a Misnagged, who was himself a Rav, speaking against the Avritcher's own Rebbe, the Berditchever. The Avritcher defended the Berditchever's honor and protested loudly and strongly against the opponent of Chassidus.
The Misnagged threatened that if the Avritcher did not apologize, he would never have children. The Avritcher answered, “Even so, I will not apologize, since my Rebbe's honor is at stake.” He did not apologize, and he never had children.
