While learning in the Mir, Rav Chaim Pinchos and his wife visited the Chofetz Chaim. It is told that they came for his blessing as they were expecting their first child.
Rav Chaim Pinchos remarked that he had traveled from America just to learn at the Mir and asked for an additional blessing for that. The Chofetz Chaim answered with a smile that, since the Torah itself came down from heaven to earth, there is nothing remarkable about a talmid crossing from America to Europe to learn it. Then he gave them his blessing.
