The Shofar on the Stormy Sea
TefillahShabbos & Yom TovSimcha
On the night of Rosh Hashanah, Rav Elozor was on a ship sailing toward Eretz Yisroel. A great storm arose, and the ship was shaken so violently that a gaping hole opened in it. The ship was in grave danger of sinking.
Rav Elozor remained calm, and prepared himself for the blowing of the shofar at dawn. In the morning he davened with tremendous joy and blew the shofar, and suddenly the storm stopped. The sea became calm.
