Hints to the Parsha

A story ofRav Moshe Feilshusהרב משה בן יצחק אייזיק פיילשוס

One of the chassid's friends who knew Reb Moshe explained that when Reb Moshe spoke, throwing out seemingly strange comments, it was all related to the Zohar and Medroshim on that week's parsha. Whoever had studied them beforehand would make the connection and see that his seemingly bizarre, irrelevant remarks were actually hints to the holy Zohar and Medroshim of that week's sedra.

Before taking a new friend to meet Reb Moshe, the chassid explained that they should prepare by studying a shtickel Zohar on the parsha. They did so, but when he came in he had the Zohar open to the first page of that week's section instead. Reb Moshe approached and declared emphatically, "No, no, that is not it," and turned the pages knowingly to the very topic the two had studied together as preparation. He then learned that shtickel with them and left behind hints and ideas related to it. The friend was absolutely amazed.
