Darkness Over Casablanca
The tzaddik's maid recalled that a few days before his passing he had said: “On the day that I die, a great darkness will come.” And so it was. On the night after his death, a failure of the electricity plunged the whole of Casablanca into complete darkness.
Not long afterward, an Arab neighbor came into the house and found Rav David there. He said: “Let the tzaddik himself reveal who his murderer was.” That same night, around midnight, the police arrested the murderer. His request was granted, because the man quickly confessed to his terrible crime.
