Fifty Zlotys Before Pesach

TefillahTzedakah & chesedShabbos & Yom TovSimcha

A story ofRebbetzin Sara Schenirerהרבנית שרה בת בצלאל שנירר

Rav Binyomin Zusman related that late one evening, two weeks before Pesach, Sora Schenirer came to his home, apologizing many times over. She knew a young married man who was in desperate need. To hand him charity openly would shame him deeply.

She asked Rav Zusman, who davened next to the man in shul, to slip fifty zlotys into the pocket of his coat. It was a large sum, but he could not refuse her. After davening he did just as she asked, and saw the young man slip on his coat, reach into the pocket, and light up with joy.
