Rebbi's Kiddush on Friday Night
Shabbos & Yom TovTorah learning
Rav Yehuda ben Shmuel of Regensburg relates in Sefer Chasidim (section 1129; compare Kesubos 103a) that the spirit of Rebbi used to visit his home every Friday evening at dusk, dressed in Shabbos clothes. He would recite Kiddush, and the others present would fulfill their own obligation by hearing it from him.
One Friday night there was a knock at the door. The maid called out, "Please wait outside. Rabbeinu HaKadosh is saying Kiddush right now, and I cannot open the door to you." From then on Rebbi stopped coming, for he did not want his visits to become public knowledge.
