Hakofos on Shemini Atzeres

Rav Hutner’s love for Eretz Yisroel did not weaken after he settled in America. He once directed that his yeshiva hold hakofos following the Shemini Atzeres night meal, in order to show solidarity with the Jews of Eretz Yisroel, who were already celebrating Simchas Torah and dancing hakofos that same night.

Writing about electricity on Shabbos to a talmid living in Bnei Brak, he said that so long as the talmid lived in Bnei Brak, going against the plain wishes of the Chazon Ish was entirely out of the question.
