Raising the sparks
Torah learning
When the original vessels of creation shattered, sparks of holiness fell and became embedded in every part of the physical world. The Arizal teaches that a Jew who eats, works or speaks with holy intent, saying a beracha, learning or helping another, frees those sparks and returns them to their Source. This is why a person's travels and possessions are guided from Above: certain sparks are waiting precisely for him.
