Do Not Waste the Spare Moment

Describing his own life in one of his seforim, Chacham Chaim said that he forced himself to use the limited time he had for study, and he hoped that others would see him and do the same. He taught that when distractions arrive, whether public or private, a person's eyes and heart should search for a spare moment, and that spare time, when it comes, should not be wasted. If a person lives this way, he said, his Torah study will be blessed.
