Do Not Pry into Whispers

Sefer Chassidim teaches: if you see two people whispering in each other's ear, control your curiosity and do not ask what secrets they are sharing, lest you make them liars. Had they wanted you to know, they would have told you. Since they plainly do not wish to share their confidences with you, they will tell you something untrue.
