When a Match Is Refused

The verse says, "If not, say no, and I will go to the right or to the left" (Bereishis 24:49). Sefer Chassidim teaches from this that if a man is courting a girl who rejects his advances, does not wish to marry him and tells him so, he should not pursue the matter. He should turn his attention at once to another match.
