The Centrality of Halachah
TeshuvahTorah learning
In Halakhic Man, the Rav placed halachah at the heart of Jewish thought, as the basis of religious practice and the foundation of Jewish theology. He stressed its grounding in this world and in the here and now. Through Torah study and the keeping of mitzvos, he wrote, the halachic Jew builds a coherent outlook on intellectual work, self-denial, death, mysticism, creativity, teshuvah and divine providence, and takes on the task of shaping himself.
