Children & shidduchim
A story ofRav Dov Berish Weidenfeldהרב דוב בעריש בן יעקב וידנפלד
In 5660, Dov Berish married the daughter of Rav Yisroel Yosef (HaCharif) Kluger of Tchebin, one of the most ardent chassidim of the Shinover Rav, author of Divrei Yechezkel. By then Rav Yisroel Yosef was no longer alive, and it was his widow who went to ask the advice of Rav Yechezkel of Shinava whether she should agree to the match.
The tzaddik told her to go ahead with the shidduch. "Although I do not know the boy personally," he explained, "I know his brother Rav Nachum, Av Beis Din of Dombrova, and surely he is similar. If so, the shidduch will be to the satisfaction and nachas ruach of your late husband Rav Yisroel Yosef in the world of emes."
