Years later, Rav Dovid remembered an Erev Shabbos in the summer when the sky suddenly filled with German planes. He hurried to a small local shul and recited the entire sefer Tehillim with deep emotion. He said afterward that it was the most fervent recitation of Tehillim he had experienced in his life.
