Directions to the Bais Halevi’s Grave

Rav Shimon Yosef Meller, the acclaimed biographer of the Brisker dynasty, once planned a trip to Belarus to save part of the Jewish cemetery from being demolished. Before leaving, he went to ask Rav Dovid whether the rosh yeshiva remembered anything about the grave of the Bais Halevi, his great-grandfather.

To Rav Meller’s surprise, Rav Dovid dictated a series of detailed and flawless directions to the grave, nearly eight decades after he had left Brisk.
