Why Did You Come to Me?
Rav Avrohom once turned to one of his followers and asked him what Yisro heard when he “came” to the Jewish people. He heard of the splitting of the sea and of the war with Amalek. The Rebbe explained that some people come to him to be enlightened by the spiritual avodas Hashem, like the splitting of the sea. Others come because they are battling their inner foes, the evil one and the yetzer hara, like the war with Amalek. Then he asked the chassid directly: “Why did you come to me; for which purpose are you here?”
