Two kinds of 'not knowing'
Torah learning
The Besht taught that the summit of knowledge is to know that we cannot know Hashem, but there are two ways to reach that conclusion. One person never searches at all. Another searches through every chamber of the King's palace until he grasps that the King is beyond grasping. Both 'do not know,' yet the second has enjoyed all the treasures of the palace along the way. Learning and seeking are never wasted, even at the edge of understanding.
