Gathering the Wax of Candles

Reb Moshe made avodas Hashem of his strange customs. He gathered the wax drippings from all the tapers and candles in the beis medrash, melted them down and fashioned new candles from them. He sat beside the recycled candles and recited Tehillim until they melted away. He told a chassid that the neshomos ask that the wax be used up completely. The smell of melting wax was always present where he sat.
