Derech Eretz Even in Holy Places

Rashi says that Yaakov Avinu, had he known the holiness of the place, would not have slept there. Even though Yaakov reached great spiritual heights that night, it is a lack of derech eretz to sleep in a holy place, even in order to receive prophecy, because derech eretz comes before Torah.
