A very narrow bridge
A person must cross a very narrow bridge in this world, Rebbe Nachman taught, and the essential rule is not to be afraid at all. The teaching encourages those starting to serve Hashem who feel distant or rejected: every apparent pushing-away is really part of drawing closer. The beloved song 'Kol HaOlam Kulo' is a popular paraphrase of this lesson.
