A Mother’s Comfort

Children & shidduchim

A story ofRav Avrohom Yaakov HaKohen Pamהרב אברהם יעקב בן מאיר פאם

In Atara LaMelech, Rav Pam describes how his mother consoled the brokenhearted. Once a man came to her in distress. His father-in-law had promised him a large sum for his wedding and had not kept the promise, and he said, “He tricked me.”

She answered him gently. The size of the sum his father-in-law had promised, she said, showed how highly he thought of the young man, and how worthy he considered him of such a generous dowry.
