Walking Behind the Cars
Torah learning
Rav Pam showed great respect to other talmidei chachomim. When Rav Reuven Fine was a rosh yeshiva in Torah Vodaas, he often traveled to Eretz Yisroel to visit his family, and the bochurim would accompany him to the airport to see him off.
One time the bochurim were at Rav Fine’s house, getting ready to leave for the airport, when Rav Pam came in to say goodbye. He spoke with Rav Fine for a few minutes, and then the entourage set out for Kennedy Airport. Rav Pam remained on the street and walked behind the cars for a few steps, so that he could fulfill the mitzvah of escorting a talmid chochom.
