Where Is His Crib?
Torah learning
At the age of nine, young Avrohom Yaakov left his town to enter a yeshiva in Kovno. He was so much younger than the other bochurim that the rosh yeshiva asked his father, half in jest, “Where is his crib?”
Along with him came a letter from his former rebbi, which said, “Someday this young bochur will be a godol beYisroel.” The family still has that letter. The boy was accepted, and he learned with complete devotion.
