A Sukkos Meal for Twenty Boys
Shabbos & Yom TovTorah learning
After the war, a group of orphaned teenage survivors came to the Manchester Yeshiva. Rav Yehuda Zev thought the boys should spend their first Sukkos in England together, at the yeshiva, rather than being sent to separate homes.
Somehow the arrangements got crossed, and nobody cooked for them. Rav Yehuda Zev discovered this only a short time before the Yom Tov began.
Despite the hour, Rebbetzin Segal hurried to the yeshiva and cooked a complete meal for every one of the twenty boys. Afterward she and her husband stayed and sat with them for the entire seudah.
