A story ofRav Yehuda Zev Segalהרב יהודה זאב בן משה יצחק סגל

Rav Yehuda Zev shared in both the sorrow and the joy of others. Before an operation, he told his doctor he feared the procedure might keep him from dancing at weddings. The doctor answered with a joke, saying he had not known that men of his age still danced.

The doctor did not realize that for the Rosh Yeshiva, dancing at a wedding was not recreation but a form of chessed.

During the Gulf War, Rav Yehuda Zev davened constantly for the Jews of Eretz Yisroel. When people asked whether he was worried about a particular relative there, he replied, "Klal Yisroel is in Eretz Yisroel. I am worried about them all."
