The Board President's Dream
RefuahTorah learning
It is told that when the Ponovezher Rav invited Rav Yehuda Zev to Bnei Brak, the board of the Manchester Yeshiva had still not named him Rosh Yeshiva. Rav Shaul Rosenberg, the board's president, then fell seriously ill. From his hospital bed he told a close acquaintance of a frightening dream. In it he was told that his illness had come because Rav Moshe Yitzchok was distressed that the board had not given his son the post he deserved.
Rav Shaul had never opposed the appointment, but he feared he had not done enough to bring it about. He sent a relative to Rav Moshe Yitzchok's kever to ask forgiveness, and he promised to set the matter right at once.
Rav Shaul, who had seemed close to death, then recovered completely. As soon as he left the hospital he called an urgent meeting of the board and won them over to the view that no one could fill the post better than Rav Yehuda Zev. The board then voted unanimously to appoint him.
