Love alone cannot sustain a lasting bond between husband and wife. What gives their union an eternal foundation is a shared commitment to Hashem and a dedication of their lives to eternal values. By inviting Hashem into the relationship, the union of man and woman gains a holiness that carries into every part of their lives.
